| Mr.
Pinkard started in the industry some 23 years ago as a boiler maker's
helper, in a Shell Refinery, near Deer Park, TX, and now manages the
entire team that builds facilities such as this one. He learned to
recognize the needs of a project: whether personnel, tools, or equipment;
then implements a good plan, & gets what's needed ahead of time. If
that need is a new product, such as the JEM LATCH®, he gets it to the job
as early as possible. His people can begin to use and understand how and
what they can do with the product. And when the need comes, such as the
vessels (silos), that rigging tool can then reduce the risks to the
employee, while making his job easier. It will, repeatedly, reduce the
time and equipment needed to get the job done safely
and efficiently.
"In the case of these silos, we not only were able
to effectively install them; by our original plan, we more than paid for
the JEM LATCH®(s) with the two sets. There were a couple of ways that we
had planned to set the vessels and cut loose from the rigging, but all
were more expensive than the cost of the tools. Add to that, the calendar
time we saved and I figure we were able to pass a considerable savings on
to the client", per Mr. Pinkard.
The JEM LATCH®(s) are very well built, and should each work for generations to come, and with very little maintenance. It's not hard to understand Mr. Lester's comment, "...every one of these projects, should have a JEM LATCH® available for use."

The silo, near 16,500 lbs. in weight, is guided partially down into the steel framing supports , where it will be attached to the structure at a point 132 feet above ground. Head room & boom length were key " lift plan" considerations..
|
"Take it to the Top" page 2 ...the vessel is lifted, the tailing crane is cut loose, and the load hangs from the JEM LATCH®(s), via the spreader beam, which hangs from the load hook of the 4000w Manitowac crawler crane
